Southland Engineering is excited to announce its new permanent office location in Phoenix, Arizona. We are currently working to finalize the office design and begin construction, certainly this is an exciting time.

Expected to open in early 2015, this new office will provide an engineering and preconstruction hub to support our customers on a regional and national scale.  The Phoenix market offers a variety of advantages for establishing an office, including close proximity to many long-term customers and design partners.  Phoenix also has a strong high tech, industrial, and manufacturing market that fosters an experienced engineering workforce from which Southland can build a world-class team.

While this office will primarily function to serve our engineering needs on a national scale, we also intend to build upon our current relationships with local contractors to offer design-build services in the Southwest market. Recently, we have been evaluating several opportunities in which Southland Engineering would operate as a joint venture partner with other organizations in the region, and the outlook is promising.

The talent located in the Phoenix office will initially consist of all levels of engineering including HVAC, process, controls, and plumbing, with the full complement of design resources such as constructability, BIM, coordination, and spooling teams.  The office will also include estimating, project management, construction logistics, planning and management resources to support our strategic goals and service offerings. Initially, we expect approximately 25 Southlanders to call Phoenix home with anticipated growth to around 30-35 employees within the next year or so.

The addition of the Phoenix office is a milestone event for Southland Engineering, as we seek to add resources and capabilities to the company, improve our ability to serve clients in new locations, and create new opportunities for our employees.
